Signals. [Interview]

signals sleep tourk

Long-time TMMP favourites Signals. are nothing if not ambitious, combining the best elements of math-rock and pop – two very different genres – into something vibrant, exciting, and fresh. A year ago, Signals. were sitting on one of my favourite EPs of the year; today, they’ve got a successful Kickstarter campaign, a new song (Sleep Talk), and a new record deal under their belts – and the heavily-anticipated party starts on October 19th with the commencement of Signals.’ quirkily-monikered ‘Sleep TourK’.

CeCe [Interview]

cece instagram press shotThe world of the singer-songwriter is crowded, to say the least. Although there are many excellent contenders out there, it definitely takes someone truly exceptional to stand out from the crowd and make a serious impact.

CeCe pretty much has it all: Not only a flawless vocal and timeless songs but a rare willingness to really put herself out there, whether with a band to back her up or alone onstage with nothing but a guitar and a microphone between her inner sounds and her audience. Then you have her inventive videos, dauntless stage presence, the epically cinematic production job behind her EP Framework, her status as an artist signed to the prestigious Quatre Femmes Records, and the brilliant and thoughtful answers offered in response to the questions below.

Read on, check out the links at the end of the interview, and enjoy. Read more…

What is your general opinion of the Boileroom?

I love the Boileroom. Having a local music venue of that size so close to home is ideal! It’s the perfect size to see up and coming bands before they hit the bigger venues. It feels intimate but not squashed – and if you want, you can get right up close and personal with the band or stand 5 metres back and chill with a beer. It’s my favourite-sized venue.

Having seen larger bands such as Funeral For A Friend, Arcane Roots and Madina Lake among many others just proves Read more…
