What is your general opinion of the Boileroom?

The Boileroom is an exceptionally well-run venue. I don’t use the term ‘exceptionally’ with reckless abandon either – the team at the Boileroom have got their shit together. We’ve played a ton of venues around the UK and I’d say the staff there are as professional as the staff at any of the larger venues that get run like clockwork. When you arrive at the venue you get a briefing on the situation and they treat it as if the venue’s survival depends on it, which it Read more…

What is your general opinion of the Boileroom?

The Boileroom is an awesome venue, simple as that! We’ve played there a bunch of times in the last few years and always love it – one of the best on the circuit! We all grew up not far from Guildford so the Boileroom was always a real go-to venue for us growing up too.

How did you feel when you heard about the Boileroom’s current problems?

The first reaction was really just a case of ‘not another one’. Living in Brighton we have seen the same happen to Read more…

This interview is part of a larger TMMP feature which can be read in full here.

What is your general opinion of the Boileroom?

The Boileroom is one of the only reasons we’ve ever been to Guildford! Every time we have visited it’s been apparent that it’s an important part of the local music community, run by people who genuinely have a true passion for live music. Plus the Chinese food is pure amazement!

How did you feel when you heard about the Boileroom’s current problems?

I think it’s a travesty that the Boileroom is even needing to have its license reviewed. The moment you arrive at the venue they’re so organised with load-ins and make the touring party aware of Read more…

What is your general opinion of the Boileroom?

The Boileroom is one of our favourite venues to play as it is vibrant, draws a great music crowd, and the sound is always great. Plus, it used to be my local venue!

How did you feel when you heard about the Boileroom’s current problems?

I was sad, as I know how many lengths the staff go to to avoid any noise bleed or disruption to the local area. It would be devastating for Guildford to lose this venue too.

We’ve just toured over 60 venues across the UK and I can tell you that no other venue goes to that sort of sound bleed control set up as much as they do.

What would happen if the Boileroom were to shut down? What impact would that event have?

The Boileroom is the only decent touring venue in Guildford and really in Read more…

This interview is part of a larger TMMP feature which can be read in full here.

What is your general opinion of the Boileroom?

The Boileroom is our home away from home – a great venue that we love playing and love going to. As a band we cut our live teeth there, and as punters we’ve seen too many bands to count – from The Bronx to Reel Big Fish – and so many of our friends’ bands and other bands on the UK touring scene.

What would happen if the Boileroom were to shut down? What impact would that event have?

Guildford would lose a big point of alternative culture, 90% of the times I go out in Guildford it’s to the Boileroom for a good old fashioned rock show. It’s not the only venue that puts on live music but it does sound the best and has the best Read more…

This interview is part of a larger TMMP feature which can be read in full here.

What is your general opinion of the Boileroom?

The Boileroom has put Guildford on the map by being the only venue in the area where you can see touring acts in an intimate, safe, and professional environment that otherwise you’d be schlepping up to London to and paying through the nose for privilege. Not only that but massively community conscious. As a Guildford resident I have also seen them put on various fairs and Read more…

What is your general opinion of the Boileroom?

The Boileroom is one of those venues that bands on the circuit would always have played. These venues are important to us (bands and musicians) as we all cut our musical teeth on them! Whether it was a good gig or a bad one, these are the venues that taught us our craft!

They’re also hugely important to us socially and culturally. What happens when they all shut down? Where do we go?

The Boileroom is one of England, nay, the British Isle’s finest venues. In terms of the work they do for up and coming acts and bringing higher profile acts to Guildford it’s a real cultural powerhouse, beloved by bands and punters alike. We are humbled and blessed to have played there a bunch of times on UK tours.

What is your general opinion of the Boileroom?

The Boileroom is the heart of the music scene in Guildford. From an artist perspective, it’s a key venue for local bands to get their name out there. From a music fan perspective, it’s really the go to place to check out new and established bands alike. There’s a huge community vibe at the Boileroom which isn’t rivalled by many local venues across the UK.

How did you feel when you heard about the Boileroom’s current problems?

It’s upsetting to hear that our favourite local venue is under threat. We have so many Read more…

What is your general opinion of the Boileroom?

It’s a great little venue. It brings great bands to a town that needs them – like Wheatus for example! Shows like that are really rare events.
