Canvas – ‘No Love, No Hope, No Future’ [Review]
If you’ll pardon the pun, there’s something to be said for a precisely delivered lyric. Timing, word choice, vocal delivery and all of its complications – there are so many elements that need to be approached flawlessly in order to make a song super-effective. On No Love, No Hope, No Future, Canvas get it all right – again and again and again.
Regardless of where you’re at in your life right now, you’ll find yourself transported in some way by Canvas’ songs. Equal parts Deftones-level catharsis and blunt-edged lack of compromise, this is a set capable of grabbing you by the balls (or equivalent anatomical parts) and refusing to let go until it’s good and ready. A seriously impressive album.
Thanks to Lauren at Inception Press for the heads-up about this release.
