Still Bust – ’77 For You (57 For Me)’ [Review]
Although a review is supposed to be all about the music, sometimes a band wins you over before you’ve even heard a note. Still Bust’s biography (viewable here) is the single best self-description I’ve ever read, consisting solely of a list of problems and surreal encounters Still Bust have experienced over the course of their career so far. I was personally struck by #15 – after all, it’s impossible not to relate to a group of people who also suck at table football.
Happily, Still Bust’s music isn’t anywhere near as bad as their table footballing skills or, judging by the rest of their biography, their luck. Offbeat tech-hardcore is the name of the game here – and Still Bust win at it no fewer than four times in a row. Long may that particular winning streak continue.
As for Still Bust’s extracurricular activities, I’d advise against skydiving.
Thanks to Lee Jackson at Saviour PR for the heads-up about this release.
