Heel – ‘Stranger Just The Same’ [Review]

heel strangerIn an age of imagination-free and creatively void copycats, bands like Heel stand head and shoulders above the rest. Stranger Just The Same is a collection of diverse rock-centric tunes that go beyond mere notes, chords, and “stylistic awareness” and hit the mark with a rich and vibrant infusion of personality and pure, badass attitude. From punky opener Stranger to Gone‘s fat leads, We’ll Fall Back In Love‘s dark and moody vibes, and Not You‘s upbeat grooves, there’s not a single weak or half-assed moment on here.

Overall: A great and simultaneously gritty and flawless EP.

Thanks to Lauren at Inception Press for the heads-up about this release.
